SILK NOIL

Often called "raw silk," Silk Noil has a nubby feel and matte surface resembling cotton in its texture. Noil is a breathable and versatile fabric, great for all seasons and multi-destination travel. Silk Noil is yielded from the silk waste of the spun processes, causing unique fiber variation. Subtle variations in color and texture are inherent to the natural beauty of our Silk Noil fabric. Silk is a natural, durable, yet biodegradable material that has a very low environmental impact. Our silk noil comes from farms practicing Regenerative Agriculture. Care: To best keep your silk noil in its original condition, we recommend eco dry cleaning. However, silk noil is also the most washable silk! Washed raw silk has a soft, lived-in texture. If you choose this method, you may experience a 2-5% shrinkage the first time you wash your silk. Hand wash in cold water; do not machine wash or wring. Use a gentle detergent without bleach, peroxide, or citrus, since harsh additives can break down the silk fibers. Hang dry or lay flat to dry. Please note that darker colors may bleed or fade more quickly with washing. Dark colors can also fade or streak if washed, so dry clean in order to retain richer colors. Low iron or steam if needed.

LINEN

Biodegradable and easily grown, Linen is a highly sustainable material that doesn't use pesticides or fertilizers and requires little water in the growth process. It is strong, naturally moth-resistant, and made from flax plant fibers. All dyes are GOTS Certified, meeting worldwide textile standards for low impact processing, including ecological, social, and environmental requirements. The yarn spinning and weaving process is OEKO-TEX Certified, ensuring non-hazardous end-products and all of their components.

Care: Hand wash or gentle machine wash in lukewarm or cold water using a gentle detergent such as Ecover.  We recommend not using bleach or other harsh additives which can shorten the life of natural fibers. Tumble dry low or line dry. Linen becomes more pliable and absorbent after each wash.

ALPACA

Our Fair Trade Knits collection is made from the finest Alpaca blends — yarn spun from the alpaca, a member of the camel family native to the Andes in South America. The yarn is soft, lustrous, and highly insulating. Unlike sheep’s wool it’s lanolin-free, making it hypoallergenic. Peru is home to 75% of the world’s total Alpaca population, and provides the main means of sustenance for thousands of families in the High Andes. Alpacas are shorn usually once a year between November and April, using traditional and ethical practices. Alpaca ranching has a relatively low environmental impact, and all factories and yarn manufactures used in OZMA production are proudly Fair Trade Certified.

Care: Alpaca is naturally antimicrobial, and does not require frequent washing. The alpaca fiber is odor-resistant, stain-resistant, and anti-bacterial. When needed, hand washing is always the best and safest method for washing alpaca. Using cool water and gentle detergent submerge the item and gently agitate the water with your hands to evenly distribute the soap. Soak for up to 30 minutes, and rinse with cool water until no longer soapy. Do not wring, instead press the water out of the item and lay flat to dry. If you see color in the water, the yarn is simply releasing excess dye and you will not notice any color loss after the wash is complete.

SILK NOIL JERSEY

Our signature Silk Noil Jersey has a vintage aesthetic and nubby feel, similar to it's woven cousin. It travels just as well too and can be your favorite Summer staple and your favorite cold weather base layer all at once. Our Silk Noil Jersey is made from regeneratively produced silk, enriching rather than depleting soils and creating a sustainable, eco-friendly textile. Learn more about it here

TENCEL BULL DENIM

Soft yet structured, our Tencel Bull Denim is as comfortable as it gets. Produced with sustainability in mind at every step— the cotton used is ethically and responsibly sourced, backed by the Oritain verification of origin, and the addition of Tencel creates a fabric that drapes beautifully, and is known for its strength, softness, and durability. The end result is a garment that we hope you will love for years to come.

Tencel is 100% biodegradable, made from a manmade cellulose fiber created from trees and wood pulp. The wood and wood pulp used in the production process comes from certified and controlled forests and plantations, and is a closed loop system with high resource efficiency and low ecological impact. The water used in the production process is recycled, with a recovery rate of more than 99%. All dyes used are GOTS Certified.

Care: We recommend eco dry cleaning, or machine washing on cold with gentle detergent. Tumble dry low or line dry, and use a warm iron as needed.

JAPANESE CUPRO

Cupro resembles silk because it’s made from the silky fibers that stick to cotton seeds during the production process. Usually it’s tossed out, but some brilliant soul figured out how to make it useful. The result is a silky-smooth, durable fabric that breathes like cotton and feels like silk on your skin. Often used as a silk substitute, Cupro is noted for its ability to create gorgeous draping. A European relative of Tencel, Cupro is resistant to stretching out of shape at higher temperatures. And conveniently, it’s machine washable and dryable!

So why is this material so ecologically fabulous? Besides being a recycled by-product in the cotton production process, it absorbs dyes easily, requiring less dye. It’s also hypoallergenic, anti-static, and stretch-resistant. Cupro is also often blended with other eco-textiles and is also fully biodegradable.

Care: Machine wash on gentle cycle in cold water. Use a gentle detergent to protect the fibers. Do not bleach. Line dry. Low iron or gently steam, being careful to avoid water spotting.
